List it like a pro

Everything you need to sell: good photos, a clear listing and the right price. Here are three ways to do it, with a real example from our own warehouse.

Three ways

1Snap & sendFrom 1 credit a photo

Take 3 to 6 photos on a plain surface in daylight. Tell us what it is and how many you have. We clean up the photos, and you write or tweak the rest.

2Full listing kit15 credits · most popular

We clean up to 6 photos, make 2 styled shots and a model shot, write the title and description, and price it from real sales. You check it and tap List it.

3Go big+12 credits for a 15-second video · +25 for a presenter

Add a short product video for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, or a 30-second video with a presenter talking about your item.

New sellers start with 10 free credits. Founding Sellers start with 25.

Photo tips

Do

  • Front. The whole item, filling most of the frame.
  • Back. Flip it over. Buyers want to see the other side.
  • Close-up. The label, tag, clasp, stitching or model number.
  • Any flaws. Scratches, stains or wear. Honest photos mean fewer returns.
  • Something for size. A coin, a hand or a ruler next to it.

Don't

  • Busy backgrounds. Carpet, clutter or patterned sheets. (We can clean it up, but a plain surface works best.)
  • Flash at night. It makes glare. Use daylight from a window.
  • Blurry shots. Tap the screen to focus and hold still.
  • Stock photos. Always show your actual item.

Styled and model shots

Styled and model shots keep the real necklace and change only what's around it. They're marked “Styled with Seller Studio”, and the first photo in every listing is always a real photo of the actual item.

How we priced it

The price check looks up real sold and listed items like yours, drops the odd ones out, and takes the middle. Sold prices count most because that's what buyers actually paid. Then it rounds to a friendly price like $9.99.

Similar new hematite necklaces were selling around $10, so the suggestion was $9.99, with a 2-for deal to move more at once.

19 in stock: 12 Buy It Now at $9.99 (2 for $16), 7 in 90-second Quick Bids starting at $1

7 in Quick Bids starting at $1 bring shoppers in fast. The rest sell at a set price, and the 2-for deal moves more at once.

Quick Bids or Buy It Now?

Choose Quick Bids when

  • You have several of the same thing and want shoppers to notice fast.
  • Prices for items like yours are all over the place, so let buyers decide.
  • It's collectible, rare or in demand.

Each auction runs 90 seconds and starts low, often $1, to draw a crowd. Your hidden minimum protects you: below it, there's no sale.

Choose Buy It Now when

  • Similar items sell in a tight price range.
  • It's everyday stock you want to sell steadily.
  • You have one and want a set price with no surprises.

With several, do both: about a third in Quick Bids to bring shoppers in, the rest at Buy It Now with a 2-for deal.

Pricing from real sales

1. Find

We search for items that closely match yours, sold and for sale now, and show you every one with a link so you can check.

2. Clean up

Far-off prices are dropped. With 3 or more real sales we use those; otherwise we price a little under current listings so yours sells first.

3. Adjust

Used items are priced down by condition. If we can't find enough real sales, we say so and you set the price. No guessing.
